Update with basketball practices after school today: HS GBB practice will still be altogether at GCC Main. Midkota boys will practice at MHS and GCC boys will practice @ GCC MP.
Due to possible bad weather, tonight's boy's basketball game against Midway/Minto has been rescheduled to next Friday, February 16 at 4pm. Practices tonight will be as follows: HS boys at MHS and JH boys at GCC MP. If you have any questions concerning the game or practices, please call the high school office at 785-2126.
The GBB District Tournament starts this Friday, February 9th in New Rockford. Our Lady Titans will take on New Rockford-Sheyenne in the last game of the night. Bus leaves GCC @ 3:30pm and MHS @ 4pm. Good luck, ladies! https://5il.co/2ee3c

What a great Kindness Week Midkota Elementary! Thank you for participating each day as we encouraged one another and treated each other with kindness. I hope you had as much fun as I did! Today we made kindness bracelets and had a visit from the Kindness Cart in the afternoon. ;)
Even though we want to be kind 365 (or 366 this year!) days a year, it is so important to have a chance to focus on really being mindful of how kindness affects those around us. If we can celebrate and have fun along the way, so much the better. So good work and keep it coming because Midkota does indeed "Make a Difference!"
Both the girls and boys JH Titan teams are in action tomorrow, Saturday, January 27th. The boys will be hosting tomorrow in Cooperstown and the girls will be going to Lakota. The girls will be leaving both sites at 7:15am tomorrow morning and will meet at the exchange and go to Lakota from there. Good luck to all JH teams!

Kindness Week at the elementary continued today with a special performance by the Curt Show. We were able to laugh and giggle together as he taught us that mistakes are really just opportunities to try again. Great job Addie at being an expert juggling assistant! Today's focus was to share some kindness in our community, and we want to thank you for making a difference in our world. :)

Midkota is seeking a five-member team of students grades 9-12 that are interested in participating in the Envirothon May 8-10, 2024, at Crystal Springs located near Medina, ND. Please contact Mr. Black or Mrs. Musland ASAP if you are interested in this great opportunity.
What is the North Dakota Envirothon?
The North Dakota Envirothon is a problem-solving natural resource competition for high school students. Teams are generally associated with a sponsoring school, and usually train the entire school year with their advisor or "coach" in preparation for the annual state-wide competition. Study resources in the fields of soils, aquatics, wildlife, prairie (forestry and rangeland) and a current environmental issue are assembled by natural resource professionals and provided to the teams. Using these resources, students learn the skills of thinking and working as a team to assess natural resource issues affecting the environment. In late spring, each team has the option to select five members and one alternate to compete at the North Dakota State Envirothon Competition
