With the information we have at this time, and the Governor’s guidance, Midkota will not need to make up THIS week (3/16 - 3/19) of school since it is already calculated into our school year above and beyond the minimum days required. Rich, Linn and Sara are working closely with state officials and all the information that is updated almost hourly. Contingency plans for extended closures and back to school plans are all in the works. We will keep you updated as we know more. Please use the following link to complete a short survey. https://forms.gle/ZfVLYmv8zi27ajAEA

Governor Burgum announced this evening that there will be no school this week for the entire state. The Governor will reevaluate the situation on Friday and update us with any further cancellations. Midkota’s administrative team will be working tomorrow to make plans for coming back to school hopefully in the next week. For any students who need a meal tomorrow, sack lunches will be available for pick up at both schools from 11:30 AM until 12 PM. Staff please stay tuned for further instructions as we are able to provide them. To the Midkota community, as soon as we know more we will share. Please stay in your homes and avoid gatherings to help prevent further spreading of the virus.

The health department information and announcements coming out could change hourly at this point. Please be patient and know that as we know more we will share. On Monday we will be having school as usual but staying in our buildings. No extra activities, practices, field trips etc. We will not make decisions about prom until we have more information closer to that date. We will keep you informed daily of any changes to schedules or updates to our planning. Thank you for your support.

On Friday, March 13, due to the Emergency Declaration issued by President Trump, the NDHSAA will suspend play at the 2020 NDHSAA Class A Basketball State Tournament and all remaining 2020 NDHSAA Winter Postseason State Tournaments including the 2020 NDHSAA Class B Boys Basketball State Tournament.
